Today we organize the city tour of Kigali. The capital town of Rwanda is found at an altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level and it is spread along various hills making the different local areas. You can visit the Genocide Memorial of Gisozi, the Camp Kigali, the Natural History Museum. Moreover, there are interesting traditional local markets, like in Muhima or the Caplaki center. Lunch at Papyrus restaurant. The trip proceeds to Lake Rumira in Gashora, with dinner and overnight at La Palisse Hotel Gashora. After breakfast, we organize a canoe excursion on lake Rumira, for bird watching and nature observation in this small Paradise on Earth. In the afternoon visit an handicraft workshop and learn how the local materials are utilized to produce nice handicraft. Dinner and overnight at La Palisse Hotel Gashora. Full Board

After breakfast, depart from Gashora to the nearby Akagera National Park. With 1085 square km of protected area, the park is named after the river Akagera which marks the border between Rwanda and Tanzania. This is a vast savannah, also characterised by the presence of important lakes, like Lake Ihema the biggest, Lake Hago and Kivumba. From 2010 many developments took place in the park, including the fencing of some areas and the reintroduction of lions. Today Akagera NP has become a positive example in Africa of good management of natural resources, also with attention to benefit local communities out of conservation practices. After lunch at the lodge, we arrange a boat excursion on the Lake Ihema, a very rewarding experience to see animals like the large number of hippos, the huge Nile crocodile and many water birds. Early morning depart for game drive along the Northern trails of Akagera National Park. Among the game present in this savannah, there are the Burchell's zebra, elephants, topi, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes. Lunch and in the afternoon drive back to Kigali. Reserved to transfer to Kigali International Airport. Half Board Note: eventually it is possible to add an extra night in Kigali with supplement.
